- I use the Internet many hours daily, though my doing so isn't an issue since I'm retired. even so, I do have a strong view of workers engaging in *any* personal activity on company time.

- As a teacher -- though thank goodness never in the public school system (I went into university teaching after a single semester of teaching in public schools below college level and swore "Never again!" -- and that was over 30 years ago!) -- I'm SOOOO glad to know "the children are safe."

- The police reacted properly, given the reality of the post-911 world. Perhaps even the caller did, though it does seem pushing the envelope. And the DA was right to investigate.

- Jeez. Who knows WHAT to believe??? And as a very interested, if non-professional observer, I follow these stories closely. And also follow to my confusion, too often. This reminds me of the story I read a day or two ago about the U.S.

- This is ludicrous. I taught dfor many years, mostly at university level, but I can't imagine banning even a small child over a mere dessert, for pet's sake.
